Transferring Your Existing Domain to WebEaze (Or Connecting It to Your New Website)
If you already own a domain name, we’re happy to help you connect or transfer it to your new website. Below is a quick overview of how the process works and what you can expect.

Domains are fully owned by you, even if you’ve utilized the Domain and Hosting Credit. These terms apply to all Clients regardless if we’re building your website from scratch or you own an existing website.
Option 1: Connecting Your Existing Domain
If you prefer to keep your domain registered with your current provider, (such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Google Domains), we can simply connect it to your new website by updating your DNS settings.
Here’s What We Need From You:
- Access to your domain registrar account (or temporary login if you'd like us to assist you directly).
- Or, if you prefer to do it yourself, we’ll send you the DNS records you need to update (such as A records or CNAME Records).
This is the fastest option and allows you to keep control of your domain with your current provider.
Option 2: Transferring Your Domain to WebEaze
If you’d like us to fully manage your domain for you, you can request a domain transfer to our registrar account (typically through Namecheap). This allows us to manage renewals, DNS settings, and troubleshooting on your behalf.
How it works:
- You provide us with your domain’s transfer and authorization (EPP) code, available from your current registrar.
- We initiate the transfer and keep you updated on the progress.
- Transfers can take 5-7 days to complete depending on your current provider.
- You’ll receive notifications to approve the transfer, which you must accept to complete the process.
Things to Consider
- Transferring your domain typically adds one year to your domain registration, which you’ll see reflected in your renewal date.
- Providers lock domains for 60 days before allowing transfers. We can check this for you if you’re unsure, but there isn’t anything we can do to override this lock due to ICANN’s global policy.
Which Option Should You Choose?
- Keep it connected if you want to maintain control over your domain but have us manage your website.
- Transfer it to WebEaze if you prefer us to handle everything, including domain renewals and management.

Security and Communication Policy
For your security and ours, all domain-related communications must be handled through written channels (such as email, live chat, or our Client Portal. We do not contact third parties by phone on your behalf.
This helps:
- Protect you from impersonation and phishing scams.
- Ensure all requests and changes are properly documented.
- Prevent accidental changes made without written consent.
If you are asked to provide us with login details or authorization codes, please only send them through official written communication using the contact methods listed on our website.
